Summer 2022 Registration
Welcome to Comal Independent School District (ISD) Community Education's School Age Child Care (SACC) Summer Program. Our summer program is open to students enrolled in kindergarten through fifth grades who are five through eleven years of age and capable of functioning independently in a group setting. We are open from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM Monday through Friday, from Monday, June 6 through Friday, August 12, 2022. SACC will be closed - July 4th in observance of the Fourth of July. Transportation is only provided on field trips and swim trips and will be provided by the Comal ISD transportation department. Program protocols follow Comal ISD and DFPS guidelines and are subject to change.
SACC offers recreational and educational activities, group games, guest presentations, indoor/outdoor play and healthy snacks, and provides a safe and place to learn, play and grow.
SACC will provide two nutritious snacks per day. Parents/Guardians are responsible for packing a sack lunch each day unless lunch is provided on the field trip. Refrigerators and microwaves are not available for student use.
The program follows the policies and procedures of the District. All policies, staff, curriculum, accountability, and finances are all monitored by Comal ISD's Community Education program. The program does not receive state or federal funds; School Age Child Care is self-funded. Salaries, supplies, and administrative expenses are supported entirely by registration fees and tuition.
While the choice to wear a face mask is now up to you, please note that quarantine protocols will still be in effect. As such, we strongly recommend the continued use of face coverings to protect our staff, and students. To that end, please note that individuals who are properly masked will not be considered a close contact with lab-confirmed positive cases and will not be required to quarantine. Face shields and neck gaiters do not eliminate an individual from being considered a close contact. Individuals who test positive will quarantine regardless of face covering.
A minimum of 60 children must be enrolled in each program in order for the program to be cost-effective. The adult-child ratio will be maintained at approximately 1:10. Program protocols follow Comal ISD and DFPS guidelines and are subject to change.
