School Age Child Care

Comal ISD's School Age Child Care (SACC) serves more than 1,500 children in kindergarten through fifth grade on a daily basis providing safe, quality, affordable after school care.
School-aged children are welcome to register at any of our 18 elementary schools year round care. We operate each day school is in session and run a full-day program during the summer at seven rotating sites. We provide the highest quality child care that meets the needs of each child and family in a safe, nurturing and enriching environment.
Our program begins immediately after school (even on early release days) and closes at 6:30 p.m. on regular school days. The program is closed on all student holidays.

Our daily schedule varies at each campus. However, school provides the following activities: homework time, academic enrichment, group games, arts and crafts, indoor/outdoor play, and snack time. Our staff is trained throughout the year to keep current on best practices for after-school care professionals.

For the regular school year, we charge $125 bi-weekly per child (regardless of attendance) with a program registration fee of $50 per child/$100 maximum cost per family.

During the summer, we charge $170 per week (regardless of attendance) with the same registration fee as the school year. Our summer program includes several of the same activities as the school year as well as two daily snacks.

Participation may exceed campus accommodations at some schools. If you would like to attend a campus that is at capacity, you will be placed on a wait list during the enrollment process. Enrollment is reviewed weekly. If a space opens, our registrar will call those families on our wait lists until we fill the open space.

We look forward to serving you and your family in our afterschool program. Please use the navigation tabs on the left side of this page to get more detailed information. If you have questions, reach out to any one of our staff members listed on the website. We are happy to assist you in any way we can!

Welcome to SACC!
