School Age Child Care

Comal ISD's School Age Child Care (SACC) serves over 1,500 children in Kindergarten through Fifth grade on a daily basis providing safe, quality, affordable after school care. School aged children are welcome to register at any of our 18 elementary schools year round care. We operate each day the school is in session, and run a full-day program in the summers at 7 rotating sites. We provide the highest quality child care that meets the needs of each child and family in a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment.
Our program begins immediately after school (even on early release days) and closes at 6:30 pm on regular school days. The program is closed on all student holidays.

Our daily schedule varies at each campus, however, we do all participate in the following activities: homework time, academic enrichment, group games, arts and crafts, indoor/outdoor play, and snack time. Our staff is trained throughout the year to keep current on best practices for after-school care professionals.

We are extremely proud of our very competitive tuition rates. For the regular school year, we charge $80.00 bi-weekly per child (regardless of attendance) with a program registration fee of $30 per child/$60 max per family.

During the summer, we charge $120 weekly (regardless of attendance) with the same registration fee as during the school year. Our summer program includes several of the same activities as the school year with the addition of weekly swimming, field trips, guest speakers/programs, and two daily snacks.

This tuition rate and the convenience of being located on each school campus drives our participation numbers beyond what some of our campuses can accommodate. If you attend a campus that is at capacity you will be placed on a wait list during your enrollment process. We meet weekly to review withdrawals of our SACC Families and our registrar calls those families on our wait lists starting with slot 1 until we fill the open space. You can call periodically to check your status if you are at a campus that is at capacity.

We look forward to serving you and your family in our after-school program. Please use the navigation tabs on the left side of this page to get more detailed information. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to any one of our staff members listed on the website. We are happy to assist you in any way we can!

Welcome to SACC!
