The current playgrounds at MVES will be replaced with new playgrounds that will follow the district-wide standard. The new play areas will include:
- Covered play areas and gathering spaces
- New play equipment including swings, slides, and other playscapes
- Artificial turf in play area
- All play areas will be accessible for all students

Additional Projects for MVES
Heating and Cooling System Upgrades
- The controllers for the school’s heating and cooling system will be replaced with energy-efficient equipment. Estimated project completion date: Summer 2022.
Roof Upgrades
- The school’s roofing system will be replaced due to age and deterioration. Estimated project completion date: Winter 2022.
- This campus’ cistern and rooftop garden will be removed as part of a roof replacement project. Estimated project completion date: Winter 2022.
Safety and Security Upgrades
- Impact-resistant tinted window film will be installed in certain areas of the building to enhance security. Estimated project completion date: Summer 2022.
- New fencing will be installed adjacent to the building to better control campus access. Estimated project completion date: Summer 2022.

Student & Teacher Instructional Technology
- Teacher laptop updates will improve reliability, security and speed. Estimated project completion date: Summer 2023.
- Additional devices will increase laptop availability and speed for students. Estimated project completion date: Summer 2023.
- New digital devices will improve classroom projection, display and compatibility. Estimated project completion date: Summer 2023.
- Network improvements will enhance system security and reliability. Estimated project completion date: Fall 2022.
