Oct. 17, 2022 - Ten athletes from the Comal Independent School District have been selected for the 2023 San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game presented by H-E-B. The game is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at the Alamodome.
Kickoff will be 5 p.m. The All-Star game follows the All-American Bowl, a national all-star game which begins at noon.
Two athletes from Canyon Lake High School, offensive lineman Brett Harwell and safety Helijah Johnson will play for the 2023 Team Black, coached by Stephen Basore from Brennan High School.
The remaining Comal ISD athletes will play on the 2023 Gold Team, coached by David Saenze, Jr. from Steele High School.
Representing Canyon High School is wide receiver Xayvion Noland and defensive lineman Daniel Perez; representing Davenport High School is defensive back Darion Brown, running back Shastin Golden and offensive lineman Carter Traynor; and representing Smithson Valley High School is safety David De Hoyos, wide receiver TJ Hunt, Jr. and linebacker Gavin Woods.
