PTA

Why PTA?
PTA is the largest child advocacy organization in the state with over 500,000 members across Texas. Every parent, teacher, and community member should be a member!
Giving our children a good education is the best thing we can do for the future of our communities, our state, and our country. PTA is a grassroots organization made up of parents, teachers, and others around the state who have an interest in children, families and schools. PTA membership is as diverse as Texas is in cultures, education levels, and parenting skills.

Students in schools with active PTAs have a greater chance of achieving in school. PTA is not only great for students, but for parents too! As a PTA member, you are more likely to be an informed, involved parent. Membership is open to anyone who is concerned with the education, health, and welfare of children.
The Comal ISD Council of PTAs serves as the key link in the line of communication between the local, state, and national PTA, as well as with the school administration and the general public. The Council PTA provides opportunities for leadership training, coordination of efforts in developing and opening new PTAs, and training for Council members. The Council serves to strengthen, inspire & support our local PTAs, develop leadership potential, promote PTA membership and serve the community and its children. In 2019 the Comal ISD Council of PTAs launched the Clothes Closet to serve the basic needs of students enrolled in the district. Families in need with children in Comal ISD from kindergarten through 12th grade, may request a voucher from a nurse, counselor or teacher which they can use to shop in the Clothes Closet twice per school year. The volunteer-run store accepts clothing donations throughout the school year with donation drives. Acceptable donations include new and gently used school-appropriate clothing and outerwear items for ages 5 to 18. Students and families may contact their campus counselor to learn more about qualifying for services. Volunteers are always needed to sort, wash, fold, stock and assist customers. Volunteering at the Clothes Closet is a rewarding experience, and we welcome you to join us! The Clothes Closet is located at 1298 Church Hill Rd, New Braunfels, TX 78130, behind Memorial Early College High School.
