Safety & Security
Approximately $5.4 million of the 2015 Bond funded items related to Safety and Security. Specific projects include secured entries at Canyon Lake High School, Church Hill Middle School and Alamo Colleges – Memorial Early College High School. Secured entries prevent direct access to student areas by diverting visitors to the front office and are recommended by law enforcement and are an industry best practice.
The bond also funded the addition of campus security cameras at the elementary level and replacement of outdated cameras at secondary campuses. Other safety and security items included secure door hardware and perimeter fencing. All of the proposed projects are intended to enhance the current safety and security measures in place and are recommended by local law enforcement.
Architectural recommendations include physical and construction elements and are most relevant to an architect or designer in the development of new space.
Electronic recommendations include all electronic hardware and software for the security systems. These recommendations are most relevant for the security systems design and integrator.
