New to Comal ISD

All new to Comal ISD families must create a new account using txConnect before finalizing enrollment at the campus level.
First, you will determine which school your child will attend. If you have not already figured out which school your child will attend, take a moment to visit the Attendance Zones page to determine which schools serve your area. You can also use the Bus Route Locator to enter your address and find your child's school.

Next, make sure your child is eligible to enroll. All students who reside within the boundaries of the Comal Independent School District are eligible to enroll.
Pre-kindergarten: For pre-kindergarten, morning and afternoon transportation is provided on established routes and at normally scheduled times; mid-day transportation (if in a half-day program) must be arranged by the parent. Specific eligibility requirements exist for pre-kindergarten. For a full list of requirements, click here.

Kindergarten and first grade: Comal ISD offers full-day kindergarten. According to state law, a child who has reached five years of age on or before September 1 of the current school year is eligible to attend kindergarten. Children enrolling in the first grade must be six years of age by September 1 of the current school year.
Step by Step instructions: The documents below provide step-by-step instructions on creating a new txConnect account, as well as how to enroll your students once your account is set up.
The following documents are required to register any new student in Comal ISD schools:
  • One proof of residency (Mortgage, lease, or bills cable, home phone, electric, gas, or water) associated with your residence. The proof of residency document must be dated within 30 days of registration.
  • Immunization record from previous school or family doctor
  • Unofficial transcript or last report card
  • Birth certificate
  • Social security number (optional)
  • Parents must provide proof of identity and custody papers (if required).
You must visit your campus to submit documentation in order to complete online enrollment. See the attached document for dates and times your campus is open for enrollment.
