Cleaning Protocols

Classroom Cleaning

Daily custodial cleaning services will be provided in every classroom. Deeper cleaning and disinfection will occur on a regular basis or as needed according to case response protocols. In addition, students may to take part in age-appropriate cleaning tasks including:

  • Wiping down their assigned desk, table top, etc.
  • Cleaning their personal supplies (pencil box, hard surface items, etc.)
  • Assist in cleaning commonly touched surfaces (book shelves, white boards, etc.)
  • Any shared items after use (i.e. manipulatives, iPads, keyboards, etc.)

 

Deep Cleaning and Disinfection

Frequently touched surfaces are cleaned in all areas, rooms and facilities using peroxide-based products (i.e. student desks, cafeteria tables, doorknobs, light switches, etc.) on a daily basis. Weekly practices for a deeper sanitization include wiping all items and surfaces (tables, computers, keyboards, etc.) using a disinfecting product. The cafeteria dining room will be cleaned after each use and between lunch services with a deep cleaning/disinfection occurring weekly.

 

Each campus will be schedule to receive a deep cleaning and thorough sanitization process three times throughout the school year by an outside company

 

Student/Staff Environment Monitoring

Air and water quality tests are conducted annually to determine baseline data and re-tested as needed throughout the year. Various surfaces are tested randomly throughout the year to ensure quality control of custodial procedures.

 

Cleaning Product

The primary cleaning product that will be used is Oxivir Five-16 which is a one step, rinse-free hospital grade disinfectant cleaner and is effective against a wide variety of micro-organisms including viruses, bacteria, antibiotic-resistant bacteria, fungi, mold and mildew. 

 

This product will be provided in both a spray bottle to be used for flat surfaces, desks, tables, etc. as well as in wipe form for use on student supplies.
