Response to Intervention (RtI)

SB 1153

This bill entitles a parent access to student records including information related to intervention strategies from a multi-tiered system of support/RtI. Each school year, CISD will notify a parent of each child receiving assistance through applied intervention strategies from the district. The parent notification will be written in English, or to the extent possible, in the parent’s native language and include the following information:
  • a reasonable description of the intervention strategies,
  • information collected regarding the intervention strategies (progress monitoring data),
  • an estimate of the duration of the intervention, and
  • the date on which a progress report will be provided.

Important Note

A parent may request an evaluation through 504 or special education at any time, even if a student is currently being served through RtI.
