WishtreeComal ISD will soon begin the fourth year of Comal Reads, a family literacy program in which families throughout the district read one book. The purpose of Comal Reads is to encourage a love of learning through reading and to cultivate a culture of literacy in our Comal ISD community.

This year, families will read Katherine Applegate's Wishtree.

Comal Reads will run from April 9-30. Families will need to order Wishtree by March 9. See the Comal Reads flyer for book order information!

If you have any questions regarding Comal Reads, contact your campus librarian.

To get access to your child’s grades at any time, download the Skyward app to your smartphone or tablet. Go to the App Store or Google Play and search for “Skyward Mobile App.”

Follow these instructions to set up the app on your device. Also visit our Skyward Tips page to learn how to check your student’s grades, track attendance and set up parent notifications (or grade alerts) via the Skyward Family Access web portal.
When your child has been marked absent, you will receive automated phone messages around 6 p.m. that day. A child is marked absent by either not being physically present in school (elementary students) or a class (secondary students) or engaged in school remotely during a scheduled time.

If students complete a required assignment or task by 11:59 p.m., they will be considered present for school or for that class that day.

Log in to Skyward for more information regarding your child’s attendance.
The Remind notification tool is now being used by all of our secondary schools to help students and parents stay better connected to classes and clubs. Messages may include assignment reminders, event reminders, or other class items. Look for text and email messages from your child’s teachers and administrators.

If you need help, see How to Get Started with Remind.
If your child has moved from Remote Learning to On-Campus instruction and was provided a Chromebook or another device by the district, please return these devices as soon as possible. Loaned devices can be returned to the front office at their school. Staff will check in each device and verify the return.
