ENRICH. EXPAND. EXCEL.

Comal Education Foundation grant awards are designed to encourage, facilitate, recognize and reward educational instructional approaches that aid in the accomplishment of Comal ISD educational objectives.

Persons Eligible to Apply for Grants
Comal ISD employees who are involved in the instruction of students and/or related support services benefiting the students.

Eligible Proposals
Instructional approaches, projects or student supplies to be used in the 2011-2012 school year and which meet the mission of the Comal Education Foundation: ENRICH. EXPAND. EXCEL.

Award of Funds
School campuses will be awarded a percentage of amount of available funding based upon their enrollment at the beginning of the school year.  To receive funds, campuses must submit the on-line application for funding no later than October 21st of the current school year.  Funds must be used by the last day of student attendance.  Multiple requests can be submitted as long as the campus does not exceed their maximum approved amount for the year.

Fund Usage Criteria
Consideration for approval will be based upon the following criteria:

1. How the proposal addresses Comal ISD educational objectives.
2. How many students are impacted.
3. How sound evaluation procedures are incorporated in the proposal.
4. How clear and logical the proposal is, including:
   • Specificity of objectives
   • Clarity of description of instructional procedures, methods or treatments; and
   • Correlation of project objectives, activitites, and evaluative procedures.

The Foundation encourages campuses to leverage the funds and to impact the most students possible.  Think about larger needs and pool community and PTA resources to match funding amounts.
