The 2011 Annual Report will be published in the Fall of 2011 after the close of our fiscal year which is August 31, 2011.
In 2010-2011 the Foundation began a formal process to 1) address the changing needs of the district and schools 2) develop a fundraising strategy that provides increased direct educational impact to the students and 3) create a strong platform of sustainability for the Foundation. Highlights for the 2010-2011 academic year include:

Welcoming one new Gold Level Partner to the Foundation: Chacon Suzuki

Welcoming two new Bronze Level Partners: Ferris Orthodontics and Padgett Stratemann

Restructuring the teacher excellence grant process to address the changing economic needs of the District and provide funds to all campuses for the 2011-2012 school year.

Awarding a new school grant to Garden Ridge Elementary School.

Awarding a grant to the Transportation Department for the Bus Education Safety Training program.

Awarding a grant to the Canyon High Student Council to host the 75th Annual TASC Convention.

Recognizing Comal Independent School District Teachers of the Year.

Recognizing Comal Independent School District Outstanding Support Personnel.

Honoring the top 15 graduating students from Canyon, Canyon Lake and Smithson Valley High Schools at the Jan Heckendorn Academic Recognition Banquet.

Providing resource books for all first-year teachers coming to Comal ISD.

Awarding the Jan Heckendorn Spirit Award to Communities in Schools to provide school supplies in Comal ISD.
