The Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD) provides educational and support services for children ages 3 to 5 with identified delays in one or more of the five developmental areas. These developmental areas are: motor, social/emotional, self-help, communication, and pre-academic. Students are eligible for services on their third birthday, regardless of when the birthday falls within the school year. |
Prekindergarten, a state-mandated program, serves children who are four years of age on or before September 1 and who are limited English speaking, from families that qualify for free or reduced lunch, or dependents of active duty members of the military.
A student is eligible for PK by meeting the following criteria in 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 as determined by appropriate PK staff.
1. Students who do not speak and comprehend the English language.
2. Students who are educationally disadvantaged.
3. Students who are homeless, regardless of the residence of the child, of either parent of the child, or of the child's guardian or other person having lawful control of the child.
4. Child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority.
5. Child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty.
