A Letter From Principal Thompson:

MVMS Family,

The STAAR tests are over, Algebra End Of Course exams are taking place May 4th, and the last weeks of the 2014-2015 school year have arrived. Summer is almost here, yet many things are still happening at MVMS. STAAR results are expected to be in at the end of May and the results will be mailed.  We expect great results again this year as our teachers and students have worked diligently all school year. Once you receive your STAAR reports the counselors and I will be available to answer any questions you may have so don’t hesitate to email or call as we will be on campus through mid June.

We hope to see our Hawk families at as many events as possible so please hold on to calendar located at the end of the newsletter.  There are field trips, dances, concerts, an 8th grade party,  the 8th grade awards, a talent show AND final exams all between now and the last day of school, June 3rd

It is extremely important that our students are at school every day.  We are still teaching new concepts and skills that will be assessed during finals and are an important foundation for the upcoming school year.  Students with more than 18 absences and/or students with a yearly average below 70 at the end of the school year will have to attend Summer School.  If you have questions about this please contact our counselor Angie Mickey

We are truly thankful to work with such a supportive community and with your incredible students.  I speak for the entire MVMS staff when I say that we hope you all have a safe and joyful summer vacation!

As always, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact me by email or phone at 830-885-1300.
