Mission & Vision of Goodwin Frazier Elementary School

Goodwin Frazier Elementary provides an actively engaged learning environment focused on capturing the absolute maximum potential of every individual, every day.

Unlocking excellence.  We are the Wildcats.  Safe, Responsible, Respectful!

A Letter From Principal Lucas:

Greetings to all,

Goodwin Frazier Elementary is a founding campus of the Comal Independent School District and has opened its doors to educate and serve the citizens of New Braunfels for over 50 years. Currently, Goodwin Frazier serves approximately 450 students in Prekindergarten through fifth grade. Our purpose, in collaboration with parents and our community, is to provide a safe learning environment, in which, every student can and will reach every academic, social and emotional success possible. We strive to help students develop and learn necessary 21st century skills while enjoying their educational process through active participation, technology resources, and research based instructional practices.

Students in kindergarten through fifth grade participate in fine arts and physical education classes along with the core academic program. Students attend physical education class 3 days a week and participate in music and art instruction 1 day each per week. Student programs are presented throughout the year highlighting student achievement.

Our Library offers students a place to check out books, conduct research, and use technology in many ways. Students access the library during whole class times and as individuals. Students access computers both in their classrooms and in the library in order to extend and support learning.

The PTA and our Campus Support Liaison make possible many of the programs and special events at GFES. In support of the proverb “it takes a whole village to raise a child”, I encourage you to connect with these groups and join us as a volunteer on campus or as a mentor to a student.

I hope this website provides a snapshot of our school, community, programs, and staff. Please contact our school office if we can be of any assistance in your quest to learn more about the great ways that students, staff and parents work together to improve lives through education.

Thank you for visiting our site,

Cheryl Lucas, Principal
