Some things about me...

I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the children of Bill Brown Elementary School.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree (cum laude) and Master of Education degree from Stephen F. Austin University and a Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin. Certificates and licenses I have held include: Social Work; Counseling; National Alcohol and Drug Counselor; Teaching Certification; Mid-Management Certification; Superintendents Certification and I am a licensed pilot. My experiences in education spans 40 years including: teaching and counseling at a Wilderness School; teaching at a Jr. High School; Director of a Wilderness School; assistant principal in high school and elementary school in Austin, Pflugerville, and Comal; principal ranging from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade in Apple Springs, Pflugerville, and Comal. I have taught or currently teach as an adjunct professor at Angelina Community College, Austin Community College, Stephen F. Austin University, Concordia University and The University of Texas at Austin.

I have 4 children; the two youngest boys are students in Comal ISD. My daughter is an Attorney (a Public Defender in Laredo) and my oldest son is a graduate from Texas A&M University and trains doctors for the Intuitive Corporation on how to operate the "da Vinci" surgical robot.

I believe strongly in parents and community members feeling welcomed, teachers being supported and treated respectfully as professionals, and above all that students will achieve their academic potential in an environment that is safe, friendly and accepting of all persons.
