PODCASTS
Podcasting is a method of receiving syndicated audio content, using the RSS 2.0 file format, for free. It’s similar to listening to a radio broadcast, only on your PC, Mac, or MP3 player. No radio is required!
Once Comal ISD posts the data as a podcast feed, it will automatically appear in your podcast reader if you have taken advantage of Comal ISD’s free podcast subscription.
The most popular podcast reader for PC and Mac users is iTunes (it’s free through the Apple website). Other news readers include Attensa, FeedDemon, AmphetaDesk, NetNewsWire, Radio Userland, and NewsGator.
Remember, since podcasts are MP3 audio files, you can also transfer feeds to your MP3 Player (i.e., iPod) and listen to them later. If the podcasts have video in them, your news reader should be able to read them (again, iTunes is best for this).
