Thank you for your interest in employment with the Comal Independent School District.  To complete an application, please read the information below and follow the steps indicated.

Questions regarding the application process should be directed to hr@comalisd.org.
Step 1:  Application
To be considered as an applicant, you must provide the following:
A completed application
Transcripts and/or High School Diploma. (if applicable)
Resume (if applicable)
Certificates/Licenses (if applicable)
No more than three letters of recommendation (optional)

Please note:

Required documents must be submitted electronically with the application.Human Resources will not accept any documents that are sent through the mail or via email. Please do not send duplicate copies of your documents or original transcripts to the Human Resources Department. Original transcripts will be collected from you if you are hired for a position with Comal ISD. If you are having difficulties attaching your documents, please refer back to the supporting documents page of your application for detailed instructions.
Completed applications will be kept on file for one year.
Certified applicants should provide information that includes their most recent principal or cooperating teacher, college supervisor’s names, or other educational references deemed appropriate including current telephone numbers and email addresses. 

Classified applicants should provide the names of the three most recent employers including the supervisors’ names, current telephone numbers, and email addresses.  Failure to provide accurate information will result in a delay in the employment process.
Administrative Positions:
Please complete the administrative application and provide the items listed above.
Fingerprinting is required if hired ($50.20 fee).
   
Certified Positions:
Please complete the certified application and provide the items listed above.
Fingerprinting is required if hired ($50.20 fee).

Classified (non-teaching) Positions:
Please complete the classified application and provide the items listed above.
If you are recommended for employment, a representative of the Human Resources Department will contact you to offer the position and arrange a time to complete the necessary paperwork.
Fingerprinting is required if hired (no fee for most; $50.20 for certified educational paraprofessionals).
   
Substitute Positions:
Please complete the substitute application and provide the items listed above.
Fingerprinting is required if hired ($50.20 fee).
Your information will be reviewed once your substitute application has been submitted. If you meet the criteria for the position you will be invited to a substitute orientation.
   
Step 2:  Monitor Job Openings
Once you have completed the application process, you must monitor our job postings at https://jobs.comalisd.org/winocular/jobs/JobPost.exe?Action=page1&ini=jobs and submit an application for any openings you are interested in.
Step 3: Interviews
Principals/Supervisors review ALL submitted applications and will contact you if you have been selected for an interview
Step 4:  Appointment
If you are recommended for employment, a representative of the Human Resources Department will contact you to offer the position and arrange a time to complete the necessary paperwork. 
Please note:  Only a representative of the Human Resources Department is authorized to make offers of employment.
Step 5:  Orientation
Certified employees must attend new teacher orientation in their first year of employment with the district.  This orientation takes place in August.  Orientation sessions are contractually required of all certified staff.

Classified employees must attend a new employee orientation session following acceptance of employment.
