Welcome to Comal ISD!!
Comal ISD is proud to partner with area Universities/Alternative Certification Programs to provide student teachers, student interns, and student observers a place to learn and observe. All student teachers, interns, and observers must be pre-approved prior to their first day on one of our campuses. Please see the information and instructions below for each category of student.

Student Teachers

• Complete the online Campus Placement Request Form
• Please be ready to provide your contact information, teaching field, certification areas, grade level preferred, Comal ISD feeder pattern preference, program name, and program contact information.
• You will receive an email back once your assignment has been determined.
• Complete the Comal ISD Online Application
• Please review the student teacher application instructions.
• Used for substitute teaching assignments and the background check process.
• Your student teacher coordinator will provide you with the fast pass you will need in order to be fingerprinted (you can not begin your assignment until your fingerprinting has been completed – this appointments will be scheduled within the month preceding your assignment).
• Attend the Student Teacher Orientation
• You will receive notification of the date, time, and location of the orientation (these are typically held the first week of the semester).

Student Interns, Practicum Students, Student Observers, & Block Students

• This must be completed and you must be approved before you can go on one of our campuses.
