This agency provides counseling and social services to families and individuals, offers a safety net for "at-risk" youth, collaborates extensively with schools, non-profit agencies, and other youth-serving resources in each community.

Comal County Juvenile Probation
Services for juveniles ages 10 through 16 include counseling; community service restitution; financial restitution; group programs, intensive supervision programs, as well as other programs based on the individual needs of the child.

DARE Program
The D.A.R.E. ( Drug Abuse Resistance Education) helps students cope with pressures to experiment with alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, inhalants, or other drugs or to engage in violence. James Moore from the Comal County Sheriff’s Department works with Comal ISD’s fifth graders.

Parenting Wisely
Information about a simple but effective computer based program which teaches necessary skills for raising healthy, well balanced children, ages 3 to 18. Short sessions show how to reduce problem behaviors and increase communication and family unity. Program available in CISD .

Drug information and facts, education materials, curriculum guides, classroom tools, etc. for parents and teachers.

School Violence & Crisis Info.
NASP has made materials on school safety, violence prevention, suicide prevention and intervention, available free of charge to the public in order to promote the ability of children and youth to cope with traumatic or unsettling events. Some materials available in Spanish and other languages.

The Child Welfare Information Gateway provides access to information and resources to help protect children and strengthen families

Prescription Drug Abuse
The problem is more common than many parents think. More teens are abusing prescription drugs than any illicit drug except marijuana. Topics include the “Dangers of Rx Drug Abuse”, “Could your Teen be Abusing?”, “What Can You Do?”, and “Top Tips for Parents”.
