Your student is offered up to 5 items to make up his/her meal. (see What makes a meal? in the FAQ section) To count as a complete meal, the student must take at least 3 of the 5 items offered. For example, a hamburger and milk count as 3 since the hamburger consists of both the meat item AND a bread (grain) item, that's 2, and the milk makes 3; another example might be pizza, milk and a vegetable. This combination counts as four since the pizza is made up of the bread item and a meat alternative (cheese) (that's 2), then the milk and a vegetable make 4 items selected.

Fruits, Vegetables, Bread and Milk are offered with all lunches.

Fruit & Vegetable choices may include: apples, bananas, mixed fruit, oranges, peaches, pineapple, fruited gelatin, pears, tossed salads, pinto beans, broccoli, carrots, peas, fresh veggies with dip, green beans, spinach, potatoes, corn, & more.

Grain and Bread choices may include: hot wheat rolls, Italian breadsticks, cornbread, pasta, crackers, Spanish rice, white or brown rice.
