EMPLOYMENT WITH WORK WHILE YOUR Working for Child Nutrition Services in the school cafeterias is an excellent part-time job for the person seeking some extra income while their kids are in school. While we do have some full-time positions, they do not come open often. The majority of our employees start with us as a substitute and are later hired into a permanent position. What kind of work is it? Child Nutrition Services provides training opportunities in customer service, safety and sanitation, and nutrition education through classes, workshops, conferences, and our local School Food Service Association. a difference. How do I apply? We hire substitute workers throughout the school year. When permanent openings are available, we will review first, our active substitute pool to fill the any campus specialist vacancies. You may contact Child Nutrition Services at any time to inquire about job openings. How do I get a
Food Handler's Card? The test is offered online, see the above website for information and cost. No special computer knowledge is required to take this test. Pre-registration is not required, but studying the Food Handler's Manual to prepare is strongly recommended. Online: You may study the manual and take the test online at this site: www.TexasFoodHandlers.com. You will need to pay the fee by credit card and also have a printer to print your certification cards (it prints two cards on a page; please print an extra copy for our office files). |
